Job summary

The Resourcing Operations Centre (ROC) Supervisor will report directly to the ROC Manager and will provide supernumerary, supervisory and line management support to the ROC Department, acting as first point of escalation and contact for ROC staff. They will be responsible for working with the ROC Manager, Deputy Head of Operational Scheduling and Head of Operational Scheduling to deliver National, Corporate and local Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and objectives.

TheROC Supervisor is responsible for delivering resourcing services in line with the areas of ROC responsibility, facilitating the operational needs of the service and considering the requirements of Trust employees while strictly adhering to Trust Policy, SOP and relevant legislation through providing effective and efficient management of ROC staff and resources.

Main duties of the job

The ROC Supervisor will hold line management responsibility for the ROC Schedulers and ROC Lead Schedulers; providing probation meetings, 1:1s, career conversations, grievance management, sickness absence management and welfare, personal development reviews and individual training plans as well as delivering inductions and training. They will assist the ROC Manager and Deputy Head of Operational Scheduling in recruitment andselection and in workload allocation.

The post holder will work without direct supervision and will use initiative and discretion to ensure collaborative team working. They will be responsible for producing and implementing departmental strategy and plans to ensure the delivery of individual and departmental work load objectives and KPIs. They will plan and continuously monitor work schedules of ROC Schedulers and ROC Lead Schedulers ensuring all deadlines and KPIs are met. They will actively supervise achievement of KPIs andprovide guidance and support to the team as needed, appropriately managing or escalating any issues with workload or time management.

The post holder will demonstrate the ability to maintain excellent working relationships; they will communicate effectively and appropriately at all levels of the organisation. They will be required to demonstrate the ability to understand and explain a broad range of complex data, scheduling processes and Trust Policy clearly, and in different ways in order to achieve understanding.
