Job summary
To act as the clinical training lead for the Integrated Access Partnership (IAP).
The role will include the scoping of training needs within the legislative context and Nationally agreed standards of practice.
The team consists of a registered and unregistered workforce and all agreed training plans and learning outcomes will correlate to scope of practice of the designated workforce.
To enable the IAP and SWAST colleagues to deliver of high quality pre-hospital patient care by providing innovative and effective training / education within the mental health field.
Provide leadership, acting as an educational figurehead, promoting high quality patient care, examination, values and appropriate care pathways across the IAP and wider Integrated Care Boards in the SWAST geographical area.
Be responsible for the implementation of strategic objectives and policy in operational activity, providing feedback to ensure compliance and continuous patient-focused performance.
Promote the Trust's strategic objectives via support for specific initiatives as required by line manager.
Engage collaboratively with IAP colleagues and to achieve learning and development goals, using specialist knowledge and service area's to support and facilitate learning.
Engage collaboratively with operational management colleagues to achieve learning and development performance by managing and supporting colleagues training needs. Engage with other trust departments to achieve strategic aims.
Main duties of the job
To support the management team in scoping learning needs of the IAP and wider teams in order to map, develop and deliver training to maximise skill and minimise harm.
To deliver mental health specialist training across the IAP and ICB's in the development of joint services such as the mental health ambulances; session content as agreed with IAP Senior Clinical Lead and L&D.
Manage, plan and perform assessments and knowledge checks to analyse staff performance and judge if performing at a safe standard.
Maintain training materials and deliver annual training updates and reviews or sooner if indicated.
Maintain a contemporary awareness of current legislation and judgements made which impact on practice of mental health clinicians.
