Job summary
Be responsible to the IT Service Desk Manager, for the efficient and effective support of Information Technology and Computerised systems and services throughout the Trust, to support first class patient care.
As part of the Desktop team you will be supplying 2nd line Desktop support to our users. You will be an escalation point for 1st Line Service Desk as well as being involved with engineers at 3rd line and projects. You will be responsible for the effective support for IT Systems within the Trust to support first class patient care.
Main duties of the job
Provide excellent customer care when dealing with users via telephone, email, video conferencing, instant messaging and in person.
Provide 2nd line Desktop support services to all Trust users.
Provide cover for 1st line Service Desk.
Provide on-site support for desktop requests, incidents and changes and their supporting infrastructure in use throughout the Trust and ensure updates are provided to users and recorded in the Trusts Service Desk tool.
Contribute to the preparation of monthly performance reports.
Assist in the installation, commission and maintenance ofcomputerised hardware, software systems and networks.
Ensure the timely dispatch of repaired/replacement equipment to Ambulance Stations and remote Trust locations.
Carry out basic repair, cleaning and maintenance of Trust hardware, including Laptops, PC's, Wallboards, Printers, Scanners and workstation peripherals.
Maintain IT records, filing systems and ensure the Service Desk Management Tool is filled out with detail
Prepare and produce general and technical correspondence, returns, reports and specifications.
Carry out routine maintenance tasks.
Ensure that all documentation and procedures necessary for the effective running of the Trust's computer and IT systems are updated and maintained.
Provide support and guidance to users to ensure they get best use of standard applications such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.
Take a lead in supporting and mentoring new team members.
