Job summary

South Western Ambulance Service is looking for a proactive, motivated and knowledgeable Project Manager to work within the Digital, Data & Technology (DDaT) Programme Management Office (PMO). The role will involve working on projects such as IT infrastructure upgrades or migrations and implementation of digital solutions to support clinical or support services operations. Working as part of a team, the role will involve project planning, testing, training, deployment, decommissioning and stakeholder and benefits management.

The successful candidate will have strong project management experience, be a confident communicator, enjoy working in a fast-paced and changing environment and be passionate about delivering effective solutions in the demanding operational context of NHS emergency care. Project management experience in an emergency service context or relating to emergency communications or healthcare IT systems would be an advantage. Experience of project managing digital change is essential.

Main duties of the job

Be responsible to the Programme Manager for the timely, efficient and effective management of allocated projects. Build effective working relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.Manage all aspects of projects stages through; specification, planning, testing, training, deployment, decommissioning and maintain a robust change and delivery management framework for assigned projects.Manage project budget and project benefits realisation framework process.Support, facilitate and monitor progress of projects both internally and externally where appropriate.Manage and support the development of junior project management team colleagues.The post holder may be required to undertake line management for a junior colleague, as well as provide support, development and assurance for work packages or projects they are leading on.
