Job summary
We are looking for a motivated individual with experience of leading change to take the South Western Ambulance Service Defibrillator and CPR Education Programme to the next level.
We are shifting our focus from the supply of physical defibrillators to those individuals / organisations who approach us to a wider approach focused on education and training around the value and use of defibrillators across the South West, with a view to improving survival rates in Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrests.

Main duties of the job
This will be a 6-to-9-month secondment for an individual who has got the flair and vision to:
- Develop a programme of work to deliver the already ratified SWAST Defibrillator plan;
- Design and develop the necessary processes to increase the availability and emergency readiness of public access defibrillators across the South West with particular focus on the initial target groups including schools;
- Design and develop the educational resources and promotional materials to raise awareness and confidence of using a public access defibrillator across the South West;
- Be confident and professional in liaising and partnering with other organisations / charities including the BHF The Circuit working in this space to collaboratively effect change;
- Be proficient in the management and interpretation of data to design targeted campaigns and take account of potential health inequalities;
- Develop a scorecard to monitor and measure progress across a number of key performance indicators.
- Link closely with the South Western Ambulance Service Charity in the development of this work to maximise charitable fund raising opportunities.
- To work with our very experienced and motivated Assistant Community Responder Officer Team in operationalising this new way of working.
