Job summary
The Server Manager will lead a multi-disciplined, geographically dispersed team to ensure a seamless and consistent delivery of Server Services internally to the Trust to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and technical standards. As well as being an experienced line manager the Server Manager role is a technical role which requires an extensive experience of: Server Compute and Storage technologies, Windows Server Operating Systems On Premise and/or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Microsoft Hyper-V and Office 365.
Main duties of the job
- Manage a large, complex team of technical specialist working across multiple geographical locations. Manage through effective leadership, line management, oversight and provision of a highly efficient and effective team.
- Manage the delivery of Core and Project activities, ensuring a fair allocation of complex and/or priority tasks across the wider Server team, so that tasks and/or activity is completed to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and technical standards.
- Support the Technology Manager throughout the budget setting process.
- The Server Manager's team will be responsible for controlling costs for On Premise and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environments. Identifying areas for efficiency and cost saving through commissioning and decommissioning of systems and/or Services.
- Ensure the delivery of core services and projects which have a server component are delivered within agreed quality standards for Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability (CIA) and are delivered to agreed time lines.
- Have highly developed and demonstrable "Hands on" specialist knowledge across a broad spectrum of server infrastructure such as: On Premise, Cloud Services and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environments.
- Be responsible for ensuring all Server risks are identified, managed, recorded and tracked according to the Trust's Risk Management policies and procedures

- Degree, HNC, HND with a Distinction or equivalent qualification in a relevant IT/ technical discipline.
- Holds a current ITIL v4 Foundation/Practitioner certificate or a lapsed ITIL v3 Foundation/Practitioner certificate.
- Knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to graduate level equivalent.
