Job summary

The Special Operational Response Team (SORT) Training Officer is responsible for the organisation, planning and facilitation of SORT training which meets national contract standards and organisational needs. The SORT Training Officer reports to the HART & EPRR Training Manager for the delivery of training services primarily for SORT. Additionally, they will provide training related support to Trust staff and partner agencies as required.

Main duties of the job

The SORT Training Officer will create the required learning outcomes for training in collaboration with the HART & EPRR Training Manager. All planned training will ensure compliance with both local and national contract standards and NARU Training Information Sheets (TIS) relating to SORT operations.

Essential

  • Qualifications or significant experience relating to SORT and the Interoperable Capabilities.
  • Degree or evidence of working towards a higher education award at level 6/7.
  • Full UK driving licence with up to a maximum of 6 points.
  • Valid emergency response driving qualification
  • Operational Commander or equivalent, with relevant experience & CPD evidence
  • HCPC registered Paramedic with 2 years operational experience.
  • Understanding of the key objectives and values set out in the current SWASFT Trust Plan.
  • Knowledge of SWASFT HR policies and procedures.
  • Able to evidence line management experience and contemporary management SORT trained HART trained Page 12 of 15 skills.
  • Experience of managing delegated budget

Desirable

  • IOSH level 1 or 2
  • NEBOSH
  • AET/CET or equivalent
  • Mentorship Qualification
