The pharmacy team have grown in skills and function within the last 10 years, and we are now in a position to recruit a Pharmacy Technician at both of our sites in Exeter and Bristol. Our Pharmacy Technicians will be part of a wider team and will support with medicines management Trust wide, as well as extending responsibilities to support with our new Medicines Repacking Service.

The Pharmacy Technician will be key in supporting the Trust to improve medicines based processes, increase efficiency and identify areas of improvements.

They will be moving to this site in the autumn of 2023 - if you are successful in the post prior to the move your base site will be Bristol Ambulance Station, Croydon St, Easton, Bristol BS5 0DA.

Main duties of the job

This position involves supervising the Pharmacy team, managing stocks, ensuring the right stock levels of medicines and drug bags/pouches across the Trust, implementing safe and secure methods of handling and storing medicines, develop service improvements, reduce wastage and improve efficiencies.

You will play a critical role in supplying our operational colleagues with medicines as part of the medicines bag / pouch repacking service based out of our two central locations. The repacking service provides pre-packed, sealed medicines bags to ambulance stations ready for operational use which enables crews to utilise their clinical time effectively and focus on patient care.

Supervisory duties of the Pharmacy team to ensure stocks are ordered correctly, stock levels are maintained, stock issues are resolved quickly. We are compliant with audits and working to SOP's and polices.

We are looking for a qualified Pharmacy Technician, who would be happy to drive to other sites if needed, has excellent planning and organisational skills and can effectively communicate. Good I.T skills would also be desirable.

You will need to have held a full driving licence for more than 2 years with a maximum 3 penalty points.
