Job summary
The Operations Manager for Specialist Practice - Enhanced and Critical Care has operational responsibility and accountability for the efficient and effective day to day management and smooth running of Enhanced and Critical Care provision within the Trust.
A key part of this role is line management responsibility for the Air Operations Officers across the Trust and for the relationship management at the Operational and Tactical level with the Air Ambulance Charities across the region. The role will be the main point of contact for all Air Ambulance activity within the Trust, escalating to the Head of EPRR and Deputy Director of Operations where appropriate.
The Operations Manager for Specialist Practice - Enhanced and Critical Care will be responsible for working in partnership with the Specialist Clinical Leads for Enhanced and Critical Care and the Medical Directorate to ensure effective and governed provision of care.
The role will also liaise with the Emergency Operations Centre in relation to the provision of the HEMS dispatch function and with the wider EPRR Management team. The Operations Manager for Specialist Practice - Enhanced and Critical Care will assist the Head of EPRR and HART Managers to develop and embed the provision of HART Specialist Practice across the entire HART function.
Main duties of the job
The Operations Manager for Specialist Practice - Enhanced and Critical Care will provide proactive and dynamic leadership and management of Enhanced and Critical Care resources and will effectively lead and motivate an operational group of Specialist Practitioners-Critical Care ensuring high quality critical patient care is delivered in line with the strategic objectives of the Trust.
The role will lead on local and national projects from an Operational EPRR perspective in support of both the Head of EPRR and Deputy Director of Operations and will be responsible for delivery of clinical objectives across the EPRR department in line with the EPRR Business Plan and other relevant objectives.
Take a lead role in maintaining and developing clinical governance for the Enhanced and Critical Care portfolio. This will encompass a wide range of activities with the individual being a standing member on the Trust Enhanced and Critical Care Group.
