The Associate Medical Director (Neighbourhood Health) will play a pivotal role in leading the transformation and delivery of integrated health services across Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly. This senior leadership post is central to delivering the 10 Year Plan & Darzi Review, working across organisational boundaries to improve population health, reduce inequalities, & enhance system value.
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer & operationally to the Chief Executive, the postholder will drive 3 key shifts--Hospital to Community, Analogue to Digital, & Sickness to Prevention--through collaborative planning with Place Directors and colleagues.
As clinical lead for the National Neighbourhood Health Implementation Programme (NNHIP), the AMD will ensure delivery of objectives & provide assurance to the Trust & Integrated Care Board. The role requires a confident, credible leader who can challenge convention, foster collaboration, & embed governance and risk management across neighbourhood services.
The AMD will also work with fellow Associate Medical Directors to oversee the shift to a place-based model of care, promote excellence, and deliver quality improvement enhancing patient experience, safety, & performance across the system.
Main duties of the job

- Provide strategic clinical leadership for the development and delivery of Neighbourhood Health Services across Cornwall and Isles of Scilly (CIOS).
- Act as clinical lead for the National Neighbourhood Health Implementation Programme (NNHIP).
- Collaborate with Place Directors and enabling colleagues to plan and allocate resources aligned with the three system shifts:
- Hospital to Community
- Analogue to Digital
- Sickness to Prevention
- Ensure shared and robust clinical leadership across Neighbourhoods to improve population health outcomes.
- Work with strategic commissioners and provider organisations to challenge the status quo and deliver best value.
- Oversee clinical governance, including management of clinical risk and information sharing across agencies.
- Provide leadership and oversight for transformation to a place-based model of care.
- Collaborate with other Associate Medical Directors (AMDs) to implement governance, performance, and accountability structures.
- Promote high standards of quality, patient safety, and team culture based on shared values.
- Lead the development and implementation of quality and performance metrics using improvement methodologies.
