Job summary
Working as a Band 7 Clinical Psychologist in our Community CAMHS Learning Disability Team, involves working with children and young people who are diagnosed with moderate to severe learning disabilities, their families, carers, staff teams, including schools and other health and social care professionals. You will be working as part of a Professional specialist Multi Disciplinary team, where hearing the voice or view of the child or young person means we take a person centred approach to improving quality of life, emotional wellbeing and working to reduce behaviours which challenge. Liaison, supervision, formulation and consultation are key parts of this role, and the the post holder will be involved in opportunities to develop a diverse range of skills. With responsibility for assessment, formulation and intervention for children with additional mental health needs. Our Community team facilitates learners from all clinical disciplines and the post holder will gain valuable experience with opportunity for learning and teaching, supervising and being supervised, with opportunity to be involved in research, service development and innovation. Main duties of the job
To provide a clinical psychology service to children and adolescent and their families with complex psychological problems, across all sectors of care, through supportive and professional Multi Disciplinary working. The post holder will provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and therapy at the same time as offering advice and consultation on psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and supervision and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
