Job summary
As the lead Occupational Therapist, you will be expected to hold and manage a complex clinical caseload and facilitate appropriate discharge from hospital. You will demonstrate highly specialist skills in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with a wide variety of long term/acute medical conditions and be responsible for the development of support staff through regular supervision and appraisals. You must have excellent communication skills with an empathetic and caring nature. You will need to be highly organised and have experience of working in older person's services. You will need to have the ability to travel to various locations around the county to facilitate hospital discharges.
As a team we offer a supportive working environment where you can further develop your clinical and interpersonal skills. We have a structured in-service training programme; supervision and appraisal system and you will be actively encouraged to participate in the student education programme.
It will be an expectation of this post that if needed the person works flexibly across all areas of the Central Integrated Therapy Team to include the Community Rehabilitation Team and Home First. Seven-day working could become an operational requirement of this post in the future.
Main duties of the job
As part of the role you will be expected to deliver high quality care working as part of an MDT to facilitate safe and timely hospital discharges.
It will be a requirement of the role to actively promote independence and individualised care planning to ensure gold standard care is delivered
