Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrator/Receptionist to join our Adult Autism Assessment Team in the beautiful county of Cornwall. This post is full time hours and will involve providing administrative support to our small team of clinicians and reception duties for individuals attending their appointments.
The administrator & receptionist provides full administration support to the Adult Autism Assessment team. The post holder will be the first point of contact for autistic adults and their families/carers when attending appointments or contacting the service. They will also be a point of contact for referrers (GPs) as well as offering vital support to our clinicians. The post holder will require very strong customer service and administration skills for this patient facing role.
Interviews for this role will take place on the 14th November 2024.
Main duties of the job
- To provide a reception service and offer directions as required for those attending the building in person, which may include both patients and other members of staff.
- To process Adult Autism Assessment service referrals.
- To answer calls, emails and letters from patients, GPs and other agencies. To be a friendly and supportive contact for patients who may present worried or upset.
- To respond to complex and sometimes sensitive queries and give information about the Adult Autism Assessment service.
- To communicate with people via telephone, email and letters in a way that is sensitive to their potential social and communication difficulties.
- To follow referral protocols and use judgement when to pass on calls internally to clinicians.
- To offer signposting to patients who are not appropriate for this service
