Job summary

We are recruiting for an Associate Director of Children's Services within Cornwall Partnership Foundation Trust. You will be reporting to the Director of Mental Health, the Associate Director (Children's) will provide overall leadership, strategic direction and management within Children's Services.

The primary focus will be to ensure high quality, safe, services that meet the needs of our service users are in place across Children's Services; also ensuring the services are compliant at all times with our quality, contractual and commissioned obligations.

You will be responsible for ensuring Children's Service's meet the Care Quality Commissionregulations and by optimising resources will ensure continuous progress is made in service improvement,ensuring patient' experience the best possible care.

Main duties of the job

  • The role will require highly developed, inspiring and 'can-do' leaders who can initiate a range ofleadership and management approaches; they will have a significant portfolio of success inmanaging multiple and often challenging services, and who can personally champion improvementfor the benefit of patients and their carers
  • Manage and motivate the managers and staff of the service by providing visible leadership,encouraging relevant personal/professional development/talent management and implementingrobust individual performance management.
  • Achieve all key performance targets for the portfolio of services.
  • Demonstrate a robust integrated governance infra-structure for the services.

We're an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people's physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.

Approximately 568,000 people live her. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area. This increase the numbers of people who use out services.

Essential

  • Professional qualification - RMN, RNLD, RNC and registered with a professional body
  • Postgraduate qualification in a professional or management, leadership, business related subject or equivalent substantial experience working in a senior management position in health or social care
  • Extensive leadership and operational management experience in a medium/large healthcare provider setting.
  • Experienced in the strategic development and delivery of service area

Skills and Aptitude
