Job summary
We are looking for a highly experienced practitioner who uses specialist knowledge and skills in investigation, analytical thinking and reporting to support thorough statutory safeguarding investigations, on behalf of CFT and RCHT, as a member of the Integrated Safeguarding Investigation Team.
You will manage a portfolio of safeguarding investigations providing a dedicated Safeguarding investigations and report writing resource to the IntegratedSafeguarding team. You will plan, coordinate and undertake high quality, comprehensive and timely safeguardinginvestigations, reviews and reports, predominantly but not exclusively, Individual Management Reviews for Safeguarding Adults Reviews and Domestic Homicide Reviews, and Rapid reviewsreports in response to a serious child safeguarding incident, in accordance with NationalGuidelines, RCHT and CFT policies and procedures.

Main duties of the job
As part of the multi-disciplinary team, and under the non-direct supervision of Safeguarding Investigations Coordinator the post-holder will utilise their specialist knowledge and skills to:
- Conduct high quality professional safeguarding investigations on behalf of the Trusts
- Manage their workload autonomously planning and organising the investigation, reviewing the terms of reference and working to agreed time frames; liaising with relevant multi-disciplinary team members within the Trust and wider health community
- Be accountable for ensuring that safeguarding investigations are undertaken to a high standard, remain person centred and include all information relevant to the terms of reference
- Provide comprehensive written reports of investigation findings, requiring periods of intense concentration, in accordance with local and national templates and guidelines, and RCHT and CFT policies and procedures, ensuring thorough critical analysis, understanding of services, care/input provided, how and why, and of specific events requested within the terms of reference. - Provide summary presentations of the report with key findings and recommendations to relevant internal groups and external panels where required, be able to answer in depth questions on the investigation.
