Job summary
This is a newly created post within the Mental Health Directorate Operational Management Structure and has been created to enable the development of the primary mental health model as part of the Community Mental Health Transformation Program.
You will be joining a dynamic and supportive senior leadership team to help meet the challenges across the directorate in 2023 and beyond. We are looking for an energetic and passionate Manager to encourage and contribute to creating an innovative and trail mental health service, informed by a cutting edge evidence base. There will be a key focus on quality improvement to enhance services.
The post holder will be responsible for providing high quality operational leadership and be instrumental in developing Primary Mental Health with our primary care colleagues. You will work within the Community Mental Health directorate and will work alongside the directorates Service Managers and the Director of Mental health, as well key leads within Primary Care.
This is a key role within the transformation program and the post-holder will be expected to deliver innovative services that are responsive and provide the best value for the population of Cornwall, their family and their carers.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will work under the guidance of and alongside the Associate Director of Operations and relevant Service Managers.
- Support the transformation and development of the organisation's own services to integrate care around community footprints.
- To work closely with GP's, social Care and the Voluntary sector to develop and deliver integrated care across the county
- Manage a complex range of services, pathways and systems of care
- Manage service delivery, relationship management, performance management and participate in the Business Planning process for the service
- Lead significant transformational change
Key responsibilities
- To set, implement and evaluate clear, achievable and measurable objectives for the service
- To be responsible for the effective management of operational services and resources within the designated service areas, including budgets and staffing
- To initiate and implement programmes to achieve strategic changes and improvements to services and systems
- To deputise when required in the absence of the Service Manager and delegate appropriately to clinical and administrative staff
- To have organisational knowledge relating to Trust protocols and procedures and adhere to them, particularly safeguarding
- To effectively risk manage at team level accident/incident reporting, assessing and controlling risks and ensuring residual risks are added to the Risk register
