Job summary

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or aspiring Clinical Matron to play a pivotal role within the development of services at two of the Central Community Hospital sites in Falmouth and Newquay. Our community are passionate about the care they receive locally and therefore we are looking for an individual who will continue to develop responsive, safe, caring and committed community hospital services and be an innovative and inspirational leader for our front-line teams.

Falmouth and Newquay Hospitals provide community services for the local populations. Within the remit of this Matron role, the community hospitals provide eldercare rehabilitation beds, busy Outpatient Departments, Minor Injury Units, Xray services and Outpatient Therapy services.

You will be an inspirational and passionate leader who can make a real difference to both the quality of care and service users' experiences. You will need to have a clear vision with the ability to share this with your teams. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control, privacy and dignity, cleanliness and health and safety to meet the standards required by the Care Quality Commission and NICE Guidelines. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills, people management skills, communication skills and a commitment to improving the quality of services for patients and carers.

Main duties of the job

Work across organisational and professional boundaries to implement new solutions to facilitate a smooth patient journey.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the patients, visitors, workforce colleagues and working closely with PFI site management and cleaning service providers based at these sites.

Facilitate effective multi-professional care across primary and secondary care and act as the lead Clinical Practitioner within the multi-disciplinary team.

Build and develop improved links with the community and other provider units, aiming for seamless service across boundaries.

In conjunction with colleagues across public and private sectors, health and social agencies, support the Government's strategy to tackle poor patient experiences.

Provide expert NMAHP leadership and represent the Trust at local, regional and national level.
