Job summary

We are looking to recruit a clinician to our fantastic Multi-disciplinary Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside all of the skilled clinicians in our MDT which includes Nurses, Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists , Paediatrican, Psychiatrist, and Neurodevelopmental practitioners with a range of skills and experience.

We work together to provide quality assessments for Autism, whilst also assessing for any potential co-morbid conditions. Assessments are carried out in partnership with other clinicians in the team, with additional weekly diagnostic MDT discussions, ensuring regular opportunities for collaboration, joint assessment, cross-professional learning and support.

We have an administration team who support the service with diary-planning, booking appointments and sending communications. Clinics are usually carried out at our fantastic new base near Truro (Underground House, Trevissome Park) although we also have out-reach clinics in the East and West of Cornwall, plus opportunities to work from home during some working days.

We will provide training, supervision and mentoring in the role. The Job banding and level of responsibilities will be dependant on the successful applicant's level of professional registration, and on their knowledge, skills and experience in carrying out Neurodevelopmental assessment and diagnoses.

Main duties of the job

  • Participate in the provision of high standard, specialist assessments and advice to patients including those with highly complex presentations, and contribute to Multi-professional diagnosis of Autism and other co-morbid conditions including ADHD, Developmental Language disorder, Developmental Coordination disorder and Intellectual difficulties.
  • Participate in clinical governance and service development within the ND assessment team in partnership with professional specialists and clinical leads
  • Participate in the planning, development and provision of specialist consultation and short-term interventions with the team
