Job summary

Successful applicants will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre at Carew House, Bodmin on 19th January 2024.

We are currently seeking mental health or learning disabilities nurses who are passionate about providing high quality patient care, working in a dynamic and forward thinking environment on our acute assessment units based in Bodmin. Fletcher Ward provides care, treatment and support to any person experiencing mental illness and need admission.We are committed to developing our staff and provide a full Corporate Curriculum training programme which will support your learning and development into the future.Applicants should be willing to work long days on a rotational shift pattern, 7 days/nights a fortnight including weekends. However, we may be willing to consider alternative working patterns including part time to suit your needs.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and may be required to teach other nursing and non-nursing staff.

To provide designated named nurse responsibility for a number of patients.To provide leadership, supervision and support to junior staff both qualified and unqualified in the absence of the Clinical Team Leader and Unit Manager during the course of the normal shift pattern, and to ensure the efficient and effective use of resources available to deliver a high standard of quality care to service users.
