Main duties of the job

Our Mental Health Practitioners will work as part of an established integrated multi-disciplinary Home Treatment Team.. The team promotes a dynamic and innovative way of working, triaging and responding to mental health crisis calls and referrals, providing interventions, support, guidance and signposting. The service further delivers timely and responsive face to face assessments where required.

This team is made up of a Psychiatrist, nurses, Approved Mental Health Practitioners, Social Workers and Support Time Recovery Workers with the support of an admin team and Psychologists.

This is a full-time post, working 13 long days/nights over a 4 week period.

Education/Qualifications

Essential

  • Current professional registration NMC / HCPC
  • Professional qualification - RMN / SW /OT
  • Evidence of continued professional development

Desirable

  • To have Sign Off Mentor (SOM) qualification as in accordance with the NMC and be able to sign off students as proficient for registration

Experience

Essential

  • Substantial post registration experience
  • Previous experience working with service users in mental health crisis
  • Working knowledge of crisis assessment and intervention

Desirable

  • Solution focussed training/experience
  • Advanced skills in CBT
