Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the Penwith Community Mental Health team, based in Penzance on a fixed term contract until January 2024. We welcome applications from newly qualified or experienced individuals. You will be HCPC registered, have good communication skills and be focused on delivering patient-centred care.
You will be a highly valued member of a dedicated multi-disciplinary team providing specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions, and development of evidence-based therapeutic groups for people with severe and enduring mental health problems. We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with the ability to work creatively, utilising occupation centred interventions.
Postgraduate Training is encouraged through appraisal and supervision. A Preceptorship training programme is available for all newly qualified Therapists.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the day to day organisation of work and for implementing the OT process including assessment, planning, and treatment for patients in the community mental health team, providing the highest standards of care.
To develop skills under the supervision of the team specialist Occupational Therapist and to consolidate skills learnt in training.
To work with people with a range of mental health presentations, who may have physical and cognitive co-morbidity, using evidence based practice, the occupational therapy process and client-centred principles.To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
