Job summary
We are looking for someone to join our team in Stepping Stones, Truro to deliver groups with in the centre.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to work in the Mental Health Resource Centre in Truro.
The centre offers a variety of groups and meaningful activities to people who have been open or are open to Community Mental Health Services
The centre offers Creative Sessions, Gardening Groups, Health and Well being, Drop IN and a Community based activity Group jointly with the centre in Truro.
In the centre you will get to network and interlink with a range of other services and teams who use the building.
Ideally the successful applicant will have experience not only in working with individuals with Mental Health conditions and illnesses but also have experience in delivering groups such as:
Creative Sessions/ Health and Well Being/ / Drop In sessions / Cooking / Community Out and About Group
It is essential you have good communication skills.
Main duties of the job
- Monitor mental health and be aware of fluctuations in mental health through observations and report changes to the team practitioners
- Encourage social/physical activities as appropriate to the service user's needs
- Establish and maintain contact with service users, their relatives and carers in order to ensure good communication.
- Foster and maintain good working relations with the integrated Community Mental Health Teams and other services.
- Give information and assistance to service users and their carers so that they are aware of their rights, entitlements from the team and wider health and social care community.
- Practice in a way that actively minimises dependency and promotes recovery.
- Communicate information in a way that makes it relevant and understandable for service users and carers
- Work with service users and their carers to access identified services
