Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Integrated Safeguarding Services within CFT and RCHT as a Safeguarding Services Facilitator.
The role of the Safeguarding Services Facilitator is to promote, support and develop safeguarding practice within CFT and RCHT so that staff can achieve the highest possible standards in Safeguarding and ensure staff can recognise, respond, and report abuse and neglect.
This is a clinically facing role which will work alongside front-line staff supporting and assessing their safeguarding competencies. This role will incorporate traditional training methods (face to face teaching) with new innovative competency-based framework model of practice supporting staff in Adult, Children and Maternity services, both in a hospital and a community setting.
Main duties of the job
- Promote, deliver, and drive forward the CFT and RCHT safeguarding training agenda including the development of blended learning to support the delivery of education
- Develop and deliver safeguarding skills training including application of Human Rights Act in clinical practice, Self-Neglect policies and strategy, Domestic Abuse, PREVENT, County Lines, Mental Capacity Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)/Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS), Cyber Crime and Think Child, Think Family and other relevant Legal Frameworks, to meet operational and team priorities.
- Delivery of introduction to Safeguarding training to all staff within Corporate Induction, and other mandatory training for frontline practitioners.
- Ensure that training programmes meet with, and integrate with, organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and duty of care.
- Work closely with the Safeguarding Adults Boards (SAB) Learning and Development and Safeguarding Adults Review (SAR) subgroups to ensure learning from SARs is embedded into the safeguarding training strategy.
- Using specialist knowledge monitor staff performance, identify safeguarding training needs and share knowledge through demonstration & instruction using a broad range of teaching styles and resources including multimedia such as MS Teams and approved electronic training resources and packages.
