Job summary
We are looking for a diverse range of registered health practitioners to join our established Children's Autism Assessment team here in Cornwall . We are interested in hearing from newly qualified and experienced practitioners who have an interest in Autism and Social Communication difficulties .The roles would be suitable for Occupational Therapists ,Speech and Language Therapists , Nurses , psychologists including CAPS .
We are a multidisciplinary team of nurses, allied health professionals , psychologists with access to paediatricians and psychiatry. The main focus of the new posts will be to undertake Autism diagnostic assessments but we also have an opportunity to introduce some pre-diagnostic intervention therapy PACT over the next 2 years
The team work closely together including partnered assessments, feedback and clinical consensus meetings and participating in weekly diagnostic meetings
We will train you in all the necessary interventions and assessment tools , provide supervision and mentoring into these new roles
We work for a forward thinking Children's Service line that sits in Cornwall Foundation Trust and are currently developing our new vision and identity for Children Community Health Services in Cornwall .

Main duties of the job
The postholder will be required to participate in the delivery of specialist autism assessments and advice for children and young people on the ASD assessment pathway. After the initial 12 months there will be the opportunity to be involved in the development of a parent / child intervention programme aimed at developing social communication skills in young children. The main areas of focus will be to:
- Participate in the provision of high standard, specialist assessments and advice to patients including those with highly complex presentations and contribute to diagnosis on the ASD pathway
- Participate in clinical governance and service development within the ASD assessment team in partnership with professional specialists and clinical leads
Participate in the planning and development of specialist parent / child interventions with the designated team
