Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry needed to join the existing Dementia Assessment Unit - 10 PA's

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a colleague to join our friendly and supportive group of Old Age Psychiatrists as a Consultant for our Dementia Assessment Unit, Garner Ward at Bodmin Hospital. This is a full-time post (10 PAs, including 2.5 SPAs) which has arisen as the result of retirement.
Garner Ward is a thriving, 16 bedded multidisciplinary inpatient service for the assessment of patients with dementia and challenging behaviour. At the last CQC inspection, it was rated as Outstanding, it has also received following accolades - 2021 - High Sheriff Of Cornwall Unsung Hero Award (in recognition of valuable service to the community) and 2019 - CFT Team of the year.
The ward benefits from being a purpose-built environment. There is a part-time Specialty Doctor who is also RC/S12 approved as well as a GP who specialises in the care of frail adults and supports the physical health care of our inpatients on the ward. All patients are assessed by a dedicated ward-based Psychologist using the Cornwall Behaviour Pathway, a modification of the Newcastle Model.
Our consultant group meets regularly, holding sessions for case-based discussion, peer review and a radiology MDT. The Trust holds regular monthly CPD mornings as well as trainee led Grand Rounds.
