Job summary
Due to significant investment in psychological professions and psychological services in CFT, we are looking for skilled and innovative Consultant Psychologists in the next phase of our recruitment programme.
The Trust is committed to leadership development in the psychological professions to lead and drive forward developments in psychological services. We are in the process of a Transformation programme in adult mental health services, and building on our existing transformation work in CAMHS, which requires increasing access to high quality psychological interventions across the county. We are committed to developing satisfying roles and careers for all our staff and in working with you to develop our services to meet the needs of people in Cornwall.
Our psychology leadership team currently consists of a Chief Psychological Professions Officer (CPPO) as well as three Heads of Psychological Professions - CAMHS, Adult Community Mental Health Services and Adult Mental Health Inpatient and Crisis Services. We are building this team by developing further lead Consultant Psychologist posts in each service line to support our service development plans.
Interested parties should be aware that, whilst working patterns will be flexible and include some remote working, there will be a requirement for the successful applicants to be physically based in Cornwall bases for at least some of the week.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a highly experienced and specialist Clinical Psychologist with a strong CAMHS Background, who will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and clinical supervision for Psychology staff in Community CAMHS.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about developing mental health services for children and adolescents. We are looking for someone who has highly specialist skills and knowledge to offer assessment, intervention and consultation to young people with complex mental health needs and who will inspire and support others at all stages of their training and careers.
We are a THRIVE implementation site and hope the applicant would contribute to the further development of evidence based, needs led, service's in partnership with service users and are partner agencies.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced CAMHS Psychologist work to combine clinical work with dedicated time for leadership, supervision and service development. Experience of working with young people and families impacted by trauma and adversity and experience and interest in developing trauma informed approaches to delivering care would be especially useful for the role.
Having excellent communication skills and being able to work collaboratively and inclusively within MDTs, with partner organisations and with clients will be a key aspect of the role.
