Job summary

Cornwall Partnership is fully committed to the education and development of our staff and learners to enhance the delivery of high quality care. To support this aim the Education and Training Department are looking to expand their team and recruit to the position of Practice Educator (HCSW Retention), with a key focus on our Mental Health support worker team. You will support the clinical supervision/pastoral support of newly recruited and existing HCSWs. Where necessary support the delivery of clinical skill development. Provide Coaching/support with future applications for TNA or RNDA as appropriate to develop career pathways. Support the development and delivery of the HCSW Development Programme.

The person we are looking for will have; a strong mental health clinical background with recent clinical experience, excellent communication skills, ability to engage and influence at all levels, demonstrate a passion for education and act as a role model. You will work across Mental Health and Adult Community Services with a main focus of mental health services. We will provide appropriate support and opportunities for your continued development.

Main duties of the job

The primary purpose of the role is to provide support within an existing team who lead on the education, training and support given to all non-medical learners across CFT. Specifically, this role will supportinitiatives to deliver increased retention of our Healthcare Support Workforce. This includes; Identifying learning opportunities within CPFT teams to upskill and develop existing and newly recruited HCSWs. The role also includes providing pastoral support, guidance, supervision and assessment in practice in keeping with the standards and requirements of CFT.The role will be based within the Education and Training Department, working closely alongside an existing team responsible for service and staff development. A close working relationship with Higher Education Institutions, local colleges and careers services is also a key requirement of the role.You will provide support within an existing team who lead on the education, training and support given to all non-medical pre-registration learners across CFT. This includes providing advice and guidance, quality assurance and development of practice placements and other learning opportunities. Delivery of clinical skills training in clinical areas across the organisation to support the HCSW workforce and other learners.
