Job summary
Exciting and innovative developments are taking place in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly CAMHS. Following the learning from our successful pilot, Thriving Together, we are looking to develop a specialist parent/infant relationship team (0-5yrs). Thriving Together has collaborated in a whole system approach to supporting the mental health of parent(s), babies, and young children. The adaptation of the Thrive service delivery model has led to strategic developments taking place across the Local Maternity System, Best Start in Life practitioner's, Perinatal, Voluntary and Third Sector organisations.

By joining the Thriving Together under 5's mental health service, you will be part of a transformational process that will improve the outcomes for the most vulnerable families, babies, and children within our county, and contribute to system wide development and change.
This role will providea highly specialist comprehensive psychoanalytic psychotherapy assessments and treatment for infant/young children and their parents/carers with moderate to severe, complex, and persistent relationship and mental health problems.
Main duties of the job
The Parent-Infant Psychotherapist post holder will work within the thriving Together team, which provides specialist therapeutic intervention for parents/carers babies and young children up to the age of 5 years. The post holder will hold a clinical caseload and manage and process referrals for allocated therapeutic intervention. The post holder will also provide supervision, deliver presentations, and deliver training, to both internal and external stakeholders.
The post holder will be expected to work with complex psychological problems and distress and provide highly specialist individual, family and assessment, formulations and intervention. It will be expected that the post holder will also provide regular supervision and consultation on the infant's/child's psychological care to non-psychotherapy colleagues, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
