Job summary

Are you an experienced senior mental health clinician looking for a new challenge and opportunity to join an exciting newly commissioned service?

The Clinical Leads will provide expert advice, line management, clinical leadership, caseload management, supervision and training to the team and will be responsible for ensuring the consistent provision of high quality mental health care to people in mental health crisis in the community.The post holder will work closely with the Team Managers to ensure the effective management and development of the service. This an exciting time to join the team as we continue to grow and develop to deliver a high quality mental health response to people in crisis.

The Clinical Leads will provide direct patient care to people in their home/ Crisis Hub who are acutely mentally ill and who do not require immediate physical health care. The post holder will be responsible for the rapid response to referrals, face to face assessment and gate keeping of admissions to hospital and facilitating discharge from in-patient services once the risk to the individual or others has decreased. The post holder will also be expected to undertake urgent front line assessments from GP's and other referrers such as police, ambulance and local authority and make clinical decisions around appropriate care pathways.

This is a full time post, working 13 long days/nights over a 4 week period.

Main duties of the job

o Nurses/practitioners working within the Hub, HTT and SPOA require a high level of oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, self-awareness and empathy in all communications.o You will contribute to the team and engage with a wide range of stakeholders including staff, services users, carers, general public, third sector agencies, GP's, 111 serviceso You will communicate and relate with a range of employees of the Trust, visitors, service users, carers, students, members of the public and other agencies with a professional and sensitive approach using a variety of communication and customer service methods - at all times maintaining professional boundaries.o You will receive phone calls, recording messages accurately, liaising with other administrative, call handlers and health professionals ensuring that suitable action is taken. Effectively use the phone system to answer & redirect calls, plus wrap-up a sessiono You will use email applications such as Microsoft Outlook and NHS Mail in order to send, receive and distribute email correspondence appropriately and in accordance with the Trust's Acceptable Use of Information and IT - Policy and Guidance.o You will demonstrate an understanding of the importance of effective team working within a multi-disciplinary team. Have the ability to adapt and use initiative as the need arises.o Contribute to the safe and effective day to day operations of the service including the handling of clinical enquiries
