Job summary
This is an excellent opportunity for doctors wanting to join our enthusiastic and dynamic team and to gain experience in Emergency Medicine in a busy Emergency Department and Major Trauma Centre.
We are looking for candidates at clinical fellow level with a level of experience post F2 (i.e. minimum 2 years full time clinical medicine post-graduation) including ED experience.
Applicants who have not worked in the NHS must have a minimum of 18 months experience in Emergency Medicine. This needs to be based full time in an Emergency Department.
Experience of working in the NHS or an equivalent healthcare system is essential.
There are some traditional 100% clinical posts and also a few posts split with 10- 20% non-clinical time. See attached JD.
St George's is one of the only hospitals in the country with 24-hour ED consultant presence on the shop floor. All doctors are extremely well supported with lots of opportunities for teaching and practical experience. There are clinical educator consultants on the shop floor 5 days a week who are purely for teaching and assessment.

The Clinical Fellows are required to perform clinical work in the Emergency Department, as the first doctor to see patients with the range of problems that present to a busy ED.
There are some traditional 100% clinical posts and also some posts split 80% clinical and 20% non-clinical time.
The non-clinical posts include trauma, SIM, education, sepsis, ultrasound, digital & IT, senior health, wellbeing and research including a senior research fellow post.
