Job summary

Reporting to the Test Lead, the Post holder will be responsible for regression and integration testing for all software implementations within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

Act as a the point of contact for staff from all parts of the organisation that need testing assistance or advice.Write comprehensive test scripts to fully verify the development system against product specifications and user expectations.Interpret the often complex testing output to identify defects and functional omissions.

It also provides support to manage the systems and services which includes: helpdesk; IT training; break-fix; application development, acquisition and support for all the supported Trust IT services. The IDT department is also responsible for Information Governance.

Job responsibilities

Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • ISTQB Certified Software Testing Qualification

Desirable

  • St Georges Cerner in house training in PAS and Scheduling
  • Demonstration of career development

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in NHS or a healthcare company on healthcare systems.
  • Experience of working with Cerner applications
  • Experience in working in fast changing technology environment, with demonstrable experience of adapting to change and learning new technologies quickly.

Desirable

  • Minimum 3 year as testing analyst or systems administration or back-office support
  • Experience of defect tracking and managing the tracking/resolution of the defects.
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge in software engineering - minimum of 2 years' experience of testing Cerner Applications, interface solutions or database infrastructure.
  • Experience of extracting and verifying HL7 messages

Knowledge & Skills

Essential

  • Good understanding of various test methodologies and processes.
  • Sound understanding of IT project lifecycle.
  • Able to identify and raise issues and risks.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Millennium and/or RiO back-office tools
  • Knowledge of the following software systems: o Lab and Rad systems o AutoHotKey (automation software) o HEAT (helpdesk software)
