Job summary

. The candidate should have attained a CCST in anaesthesia as well as a fellowship position giving experience in Neuromodulation and Spinal Cord Stimulation. In addition the candidate should have sufficient training in the field of acute and chronic pain management as an Advanced Pain Trainee or equivalent, or employment as a chronic pain service consultant for at least one year. Attainment of a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) certificate is essential. In addition attainment of Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine at the Royal College of Anaesthetists is desirable.

Job responsibilities

Applicants would be expected to work within a neuromodulation service multidisciplinary team alongside a neuromodulation specialist anaesthetist, neurosurgeons and a specialist nurse in outpatient clinics as well as weekend operating theatre interventional sessions and attending a fortnightly neuromodulation MDT meeting. This would necessitate weekday as well as weekend working. In addition applicants should be able to work as part of the chronic pain service multidisciplinary team including outpatient clinics as well as interventional sessions in the radiology suite and a monthly MDT meeting attended by all members of the chronic pain service. They would also be expected to deliver a session within the acute pain service at St Georges Hospital acting as a link between the two services. The post is less than full time delivering 4.5PAs of activity.
