Haematology Day Unit - Junior Sister / Junior Charge Nurse

Job summary

  • Are you a motivated, enthusiastic and proactive nurse with a passion for Haematology? We are looking for a Junior Sister to join our friendly and fast paced Haematology Day Unit team.
  • The candidate will have haematology experience, a completed SACT UKONS passport and venepuncture and cannulation skills.
  • You will be working directly with the Senior Sister and overseeing, leading and problem solving any issues that arise on the day unit.
  • The post holder will be expected to provide and maintain high standards of care to our patients, be able to work autonomously as well as part of a cohesive team, have excellent communication skills and work within the multidisciplinary team.
  • You will need to demonstrate the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to this highly specialist group of patients.
  • The successful applicant must be able to organise and prioritise their own work load, to work within an environment that requires flexibility and the need to work under pressure.

Main duties of the job

  • Delivery of SACT and supportive treatments to patients on Haematology Day Unit.
  • Involvement in audits, rostering and budgetary management.
  • Teaching and mentoring junior members of staff.
  • Deputising for Senior Sister.
