GTT Maternity Support Worker

Job summary

We are excited to announce that we have a vacancy available for a Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT) Support worker Band 3 to join the Diabetes/pregnancy team. This is a multidisciplinary team of Midwives and Doctors that work to provide care to women and their babies, this role is essential to the Team.

Job overview

To support the GTT Co-ordinator with the administration of GTT clinics, providing venepuncture, patient information and maintaining stock levels.

Main duties of the job

Main duties and responsibilities of the job

The post-holder will be essential to assisting the Team in providing outpatient care for women requiring glucose tolerance tests in pregnancy.

  • To act as first point of contact for the GTT service, always providing high quality customer care.
  • To provide the GTT Co-ordinator and Diabetes Midwives with support for the GTT service
  • Undertake administrative tasks that underpin the GTT service
  • To support with patient venepuncture and care during Glucose tolerance tests
  • To facilitate streamlined co-ordination of GTT clinics
  • To be flexible and adaptable to change; be able to cover in times of absence
  • Work within the diabetes/maternal medicine multi-disciplinary team

All applicants are expected to have undertaken the venepuncture certification or equivalent. Administrative experience not essential but willingness to learn proficiency for duties required.
