Job summary

The Cancer MDT Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing and streamlining the diagnostic and treatment pathways for cancer patients. Based in the Cancer Services Directorate, the role involves coordinating multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, tracking patient progress to ensure timely treatment, and maintaining accurate data in compliance with national cancer standards. The post holder will work closely with clinicians, operational managers, and other healthcare professionals to support optimal patient care while adhering to the Trust's vision and values of excellence, kindness, responsibility, and respect.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for organizing and documenting MDT meetings, ensuring all clinical data is available to support decision-making. Key duties include maintaining a tracking system for patients suspected or diagnosed with cancer, ensuring adherence to cancer waiting time targets, and escalating delays to appropriate managers. They will actively contribute to national data submissions and participate in peer reviews. In addition, the role involves providing cross-cover for colleagues and developing protocols to ensure service continuity during staff absences.
