Main duties of the job
The Neonatal Trainees work a full shift system. Each rotates through the 9-week pattern on an equal basis and is EWTD compliant. This ensures that full holidays and study leave may be taken; the timing of these must conform to that imposed by the rota and study leave remains discretionary. Each doctor is expected to undertake an audit project, and to attend local governance/evidence-based medicine meetings. Furthermore, the senior clinical fellow neonatal paediatrics will be encouraged to develop additional skills based on their interests. This could include teaching, simulation, or research.
About us
The Neonatal Unit at St George's Hospital is a neonatal intensive care unit (Level 3) with neonatal surgery and is one of three lead centres for South London.
