Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 SLT to join our community SLT team, working in across our Early Years and Resource Base team(Cedar Resource Base - Granard Primary School). This role is ideal for people who are interested in developing their leadership skills at Band 7 level and contributing to the development of the service.

  • Experience of, and highly specialist skills working with, a diverse paediatric caseload 2-11 years old
  • Experience of supporting the evaluation of service delivery in Special Schools/Resource Bases
  • Experience in developing and delivering universal and / or targeted level offers to special schools and/or resource bases
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-agency team
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently where necessary
  • Enthusiasm, imagination, and initiative
  • Understanding of the neurodiversity framework

Main duties of the job

  • To contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of service delivery within Cedar Base and the Early Years team.
  • To demonstrate highly specialist clinical skills in an area relevant to the team you work in
  • To lead/supervise others within the service and to act as a resource and support for other therapists working with children with speech, language, and social communication difficulties.
  • To be responsible for the management of a caseload of children with developmental speech and language delays/disorders and social communication difficulties
  • To provide line management to junior staff and SLTAs and participate in and provide clinical supervision and support as required.
  • To work with parents, carers, school staff and other agencies involved in the children's care as well as part of a multi-agency team.
  • To work as a member of the community paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Team.

The Children's Therapy team consists of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists. Therapists work in multi-disciplinary/multi agency teams across the borough of Wandsworth.
