Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an Allied Health Professional (SLT or OT) to make their mark as a clinical team leader managing a multi disciplinary team of therapists and assistants. The school is set over two sites and is relocating it's secondary setting to a new school in Tooting. The CTL will be crucial in supporting staff with the move and ensuring that clinical work continues to be embedded in the school.

Main duties of the job

Managing a team of therapy staff

Working with the senior schools leadership to ensure a harmonious working relationship between school and therapy staff.

a small amount of clinical work in your professional capacity (OT or SLT) - if you are an SLT dysphagia would be a desirable qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Post-graduate experience in the community paediatric SLT, including leadership / head level experience
  • Budget management
  • Staff management, including appraisals and recruitment.
  • Service development Experience

Desirable

  • Negotiating Experience
  • Contracting and Equipment Procurement Practice

Qualifications

Essential

  • Professional degree level qualification or equivalent in Speech & Language Therapy
  • Registration with HCPC
  • Nationally recognised management qualification or relevant experience
  • Member of RCSLT

Desirable

  • Relevant postgraduate training at Masters level
  • Qualified Elklan Tutor
  • TEACCH trained
  • PECS Trained
  • If an SLT to be dysphagia trained

Knowledge

Essential

  • Specialist knowledge of current professional practice issues & their impact on local services
  • Up-to-date professional awareness of Health policies as related to therapy
  • Knowledge of Trust policies including Managing Standards of Conduct and Performance.
  • Word processing & IT skills
