Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Pharmacist to join our forward-thinking team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a fantastic chance to lead and develop patient services across St George's Hospital and Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton, contributing to high-quality and safe medicines management for our patients.

The Pharmacy Service at St George's is highly regarded across the Trust, with over 280 staff members working closely with multi-disciplinary teams. Main duties of the job

o Provide professional leadership and clinical oversight of dispensary serviceso Ensure the smooth running of all dispensaries across the Trust, managing staff training, resources, and service delivery.o Oversee controlled drugs governance and support Trust-wide medicines management initiatives.o Work closely with pharmacy teams to ensure effective stock control, financial reporting, and patient safety measures.o Lead on prescribing safety monitoring, adherence to clinical guidelines, and the management of unlicensed medicines.o Play a key role in staff training, mentorship, and development, ensuring the highest standards of pharmaceutical care.

Essential criteria:- Highly skilled and motivated pharmacist with substantial post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy or a relevant area of practice.- You will have a postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy (or equivalent experience) and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills are essential, as you will be responsible for managing patient services staff, overseeing dispensary operations, and ensuring the safe and efficient supply of medicines.- We are looking for a pharmacist with excellent clinical reasoning and judgment, capable of providing expert advice on medicines management and prescribing safety.- Experience in change management, clinical governance, and service improvement is highly desirable, as well as a track record of mentoring, supervising, and training staff at all levels.
