Main duties of the job

The post holder will carry out their duties as a full-time Consultant Anaesthetist. The role will also offer the opportunity to deliver Anaesthetic sessions in a wider teaching hospital environment.

Job responsibilities

St Georges Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a skilled and motivated Consultant Anaesthetist to join our dynamic Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute expertise in obstetric anaesthesia within a renowned healthcare institution.

The position attracts a total of 10 PAs 9 DCC and 1 SPA.

Applicants should have the FRCA or an equivalent qualification and have suitable experience as described in the person specification in the job plan description. They should be on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of their expected CCT date at the time of interview. Applicants unable to work full time for personal reasons will be eligible to be considered for the post.Experience of NHS working practices and systems, (minimum one year working for the NHS) is essential.

This anaesthetic team at St Georges is a highly diverse and inclusive workforce of over 100 consultants providing expertise in a wide variety of anaesthetic subspecialties including Paediatrics, Neurosurgery, Cardio-thoracics, Intensive Care, Acute and Chronic Pain relief and academic positions in SGUL. There are over 60 trainees from South West London School of Anaesthesiaand clinical fellows who rotate through the anaesthesia subspecialties.

  • Holder of Certificate of completion of training (CCT) training in Anaesthesia or equivalent, within six months of interview
