Job summary
Assessment and treatment of MSK patients. Research projects and implementation within MSK department. Providing leadership at local site.
Main duties of the job
High quality assessment and treatment skills for MSK patients
Good organisation and time management
Works autonomously and able to manage a busy MSK caseload
Leading classes and the delivery of group interventions
Supporting training and supervision of junior staff and students.
Provide Team leadership and operational management to local site.

Essential
- oDegree or equivalent in physiotherapy
- oHPC registration
- oEvidence of CPD in musculoskeletal physiotherapy in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio
- oPostgraduate education/courses in musculoskeletal physiotherapy
- oRelevant special interest group membership
- oMasters Degree or evidence of working at an equivalent level in musculoskeletal physiotherapy
Desirable
- oFormal management training
- oMSc in musculoskeletal physiotherapy
- oMACP or equivalent clinical membership
- oLeadership training
Experience
Essential
- oMinimum 4 years post registration experience of which 2 years are out-patient musculoskeletal physiotherapy at Band 6 level to include Consultant referrals , GP referrals, Rheumatology, Orthopaedic In-patients, Chronic Pain Management
- oExperience of Classes/Group work/Circuits
- oAt least 1 year's experience of working in the NHS or equivalent
- oGood knowledge of complex pain syndromes
- oAdvanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology underlying musculoskeletal injuries
- oGood working knowledge of all areas of Clinical Governance Including quality, audit and risk management
- oUnderstands the legal responsibilities of the profession
- oGood understanding of research statistics and their evaluation and experience of their use
- oBasic understanding of computers and their applications
- oExperience of performance management of physiotherapists and students
- oExperience in teaching other members of the MDT team
- oExperience of undertaking clinical audit
