Job summary
- An excellent opportunity has arisen on our paediatric ambulatory unit for a band 3 health care assistant.
- Working alongside the nursing team you will help to deliver high quality care to our patients and their families and carers.
- We are a small busy unit and see a variety of patients and take referrals from our emergency department, community midwives and GPs. We have been open for five years now and run a seven day service.
- We are looking for someone enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate about delivering excellent care. We are seeking someone with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- You should have developed IT skills and will be expected to help with administration tasks such as booking patient appointments and updating patient records.
- Help to keep clinical and store areas clean and tidy as well as ordering stock for the unit.
- Must have a care certificate and ideally experience working in paediatrics.
Main duties of the job
- To assist nursing teams provide excellent care to the children and young people that visit the unit.
- Ordering stock, preparing treatment areas and keeping areas clean and tidy.
- Report broken equipment.
- Complete observations on children.
- Cannulation and venepuncture.
