Main duties of the job
St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Tooting, South West London, is a large teaching hospital with a tertiary maternity unit providing care to over 4500 women, birthing people and babies each year. We take great pride in providing a midwifery service that delivers holistic patient-centred care to our diverse local community.
We strive to ensure a positive pregnancy and birth experience for women and birthing people with both complex and uncomplicated pregnancies, excelling both in the provision of high risk care for women and birthing people who require medical input on one hand, and a thriving homebirth team on the other, whilst continuing to promote our midwife-led birth centre.
In conjunction with NHS England, this year (2024) we continue to offer the maternal Flu and Pertussis vaccinations as well as the new RSV vaccine in pregnancy to further protect young children in their first year of life.
In addition to our well-established Trust induction and maternity orientation programme, there are many opportunities for in-service training, development of special interests, and excellent career prospects.
