Are you looking for the opportunity to work with a forward thinking and ambitious pharmacy department? We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacy technician to develop our pharmacy education and training programme at the St Georges University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
You will need to have a passion for education to lead the development of the Pharmacy Technician and Pharmacy Support staff workforce and the wider multi-disciplinary team within the Trust. You will be an integral member of the pharmacy team and will develop close working relationships with colleagues both within and outside of St Georges University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust including Further Education Providers and Higher Education Institutes.
You will need to be organised, have excellent communication skills and be confident to provide training to the multi-disciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wishes to progress to a specialist education role and wants to make a difference to colleagues and other healthcare professionals development.

Essential
- NVQ Pharmacy Services Level 3 plus an accredited underpinning knowledge (BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences)
- Qualification in leadership or management studies
- NVQ Assessor or qualified Educational Supervisor
- Accredited Checking status
- Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice
Desirable
- Other postgraduate qualifications (e.g. education and training)
- Member of the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK
- Assessor A1/AVA qualification or equivalent
- Level 4 IQA (V1 internal verifier qualification
- Medicines Optimisation Programme Accreditation or equivalent experience in medicines management role

- Substantial post registration experience in a hospital pharmacy in an area relevant to practice with assessed competencies
- Experience of management and supervision of staff including recruitment, leadership, training, appraisals, sickness absence management and performance management

- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience of procedure and policy writing

- Ability to prioritise and plan work effectively alone and for a team including the ability to delegate appropriately
