Job summary
- The post holder will be expected to work as an autonomous, advanced practitioner and effectively deliver an expert nursing service within Dermatology.
- This includes effectively managing a caseload of patients and ensuring that patients and their families are fully informed and supported by providing clinical and social support.
Main duties of the job
- Provide effective nursing expertise with in the dermatology team and ensure the provision of high quality care to patients and carers.
- Carry out nurse-led acne clinics and Systemic drug monitoring clinics including Biologics Clinics (St Georges' site).
- Systemic monitoring clinics have clinical supervision provided by Consultant or Registrar.
- Carry out virtual results clinics.
- Carry out skin education clinics for patients with chronic skin disease eczema, psoriasis, this will include adults and paediatrics.
- Conduct photodynamic therapy clinics for patients with non-melanoma skin cancer.
- The nurse may be asked to be involved in our newly launched Teledermatology service if the service needs require it.
- Support patients diagnosed with skin cancer as keyworker and attend skin cancer MDT.
- Ensure standards for skin cancer keyworker are adhered to.
- Carry out nursing keyworker skin cancer audits to meet national and local standards.
- Collect skin cancer data in line with trust and national skin cancer standards.
- Participate in Skin Cancer Well Being Events.
- Support the two Skin Cancer CNS's ensuring the Dermatology unit is compliant with Skin Cancer annual peer review.
