Job description

Job responsibilities

Provide high quality and proactive Applications Delivery management support to the Head of Applications and Clinical Systems to ensure they can fulfil their functions, lead the Applications and Clinical Systems teams effectively, and represent the IDT Applications Service ensuring that the service runs smoothly and efficiently, and with appropriate cover, at all times.

Work across and liaise with members of the Applications Teams, other IDT Teams and Trust Teams as appropriate, to disseminate, follow-up on and progress actions, keeping track of all actions, and working to unblock and resolve key issues. You will support and oversee through matrix management project managers managing Applications projects, to ensure they are implemented effectively

Take on and deliver project management of priority Applications projects and programmes, matrix managing project managers

Commission and produce reports as required, producing documents from a variety of sources (internal and external) and presenting information in a variety of formats. Development and provision of structured reporting.

Prepare high quality presentations and reports for management meetings. This will include developing a highly attuned understanding of the priorities and key issues of focus and preparing presentations and reports in a way that encapsulates this.

Qualifications

Essential

  • oMasters, MBA in a numerate or management specialism or equivalent experience
  • oQualifications and training and/or equivalent experience in managing staff, evidence of senior experience in the NHS or private sector
  • oPrince 2 Practitioner certification

Desirable

  • oITIL qualifications to Foundation level
  • oMSP Practitioner Certification

Experience

Essential

  • oAt least 5 years post degree experience in Programme/Project Management, ideally in Applications for Acute NHS Organisations
  • o5 years Acute NHS experience
  • oManagement of supplier contracts and relationships
  • oStaff Management experience
  • oExperience in communicating complex issues to a wide audience.
  • oExperience in building and maintaining working relationships at a senior level.
  • oExperience in Application Service Management

Desirable

  • oITIL qualifications to Foundation level
  • oMSP Practitioner Certification
