Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable person to join us in the X-ray department . The Radiology Department Assistant (RDA) form part of a team comprising of radiologists, radiographers, nurses and clerical staff.
Main duties of the job
The role of RDA varied -ranging from direct patient care in CT scanning or the Ultrasound suite, assisting with biopsies and drains, Paediatric Radiology. The work is mainly based at both St George's Hospital in Tooting and Queen Mary's Hospital in Roehampton. Occasional cover also at our solo site at the Nelson Health centre in Wimbledon.
You need to be flexible and adaptable with good communication skills and caring nature. You should be a good team worker, but comfortable working independently and using own initiative.
Monday to Saturday including evenings.
Responsibilities will include observations, cannulation, venepuncture, coordination of the session list, chaperoning/assisting procedures, ordering of supplies/consumables and completion of local staff rota.
