Job summary

We are looking to recruit a band 8A, Digital System Manager (IT Infrastructure).

The role would be part of the Digital Infrastructure and Technical Support Team a team supporting clinical and non-clinical users throughout the trust in their use of all IDT services and where appropriate offering advice and support to the user. Also managing Systems team (Infrastructure Engineers, supporting storage, data centres, remote technology etc) and managing and triaging tickets for the team.

We are looking for previous experience of working in a high demanding environment with excellent communication skills and to be able to work well as part of a team.

Previous experience of clinical information systems and remote support software would be a definite advantage.

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent experience in computer-related discipline.
  • High level IT current qualification such as MCSA/CCNE/CAN
  • oFurther Professional management certification (e.g. Citrix Professional, VMWare)

Desirable

  • PRINCE II Management Qualification
  • ITIL Foundation

Experience

Essential

  • 3+ years' experience at a senior infrastructure technical level
  • An in-depth understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and processes e.g., networking, hardware, business continuity planning, security techniques, service desks
  • Good knowledge of data protection GDPR/DSPT and other relevant legislation standards

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies
  • Understanding of NHS IT Policies and Strategies
  • Experience in contributing to large, strategic technical transformation projects in a complex IT environment

Skills/Knowledge

  • Knowledge of security and risk management technologies
  • Skills in report writing, documentation, and policies
  • Good knowledge and practical experience of configuration management, testing and change control procedures
