Applications are invited for the Clinical Fellow post. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior clinical fellow in obstetrics and gynaecology (ST6/7 equivalent) with opportunities for developing a special interest in Myoma service.
The senior clinical fellow will work on the general obstetrics and gynaecology rota.
The post-holder will also participate in the Acute Gynaecology Unit (AGU) rota.
This is an 8 week rolling rota witha weekend on call every 8 weeks - 5-9pm Friday, 9am-9pm Saturday/Sunday. This is then followed by a week off. For 4 weeks, there will be a 5-9pm on call per week. The day can differ per week. This is then followed by 2 weeks with no out-of-hours on call.
Main duties of the job
This post will be based in The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London. The successful candidate will be expected to work with professional colleagues and local managers in the efficient running of the Service. He/she will be expected to participate in the Trust's system of governance and audit, and maintain their CME/CPD. He/she will also have a commitment to participate in the Trust's professional development activities. The appointee will be expected to observe the Trust's agreed policies and procedure, drawn up in consultation with the profession on clinical matters, and to follow the standing orders and financial instructions of the Trust.

Qualifications and Training
Essential
- MBBS or equivalent Part 2 MRCOG or equivalent. Registration with GMC.
Experience

- Foundation years completed Experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to ST 6/7 (minimum of 5 years' experience in O and G)
Desirable
- Initiated some relevant research during their career to date. Evidence of interest in gynaecological surgery
Skills

- Able to deal with basic management of gynaecological emergencies. Able to manage a high risk delivery suite

- Experience in performing transvaginal ultrasound and hysteroscopy. Previous research experience and evidence of publications
