Job summary

This is maternity leave cover for a Lead Information & data analyst working in specifically in Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery.

As the lead for all data, information and audit specialist the postholder will provide reports, insight and recommendations through complex analysis of multiple datasets, comprehensive reporting and analysis.

Main duties of the job

Data analysis and reporting to multi-disciplinary professionals

Submission of and oversight of submission of national audit and safety data for the specialities

Line management of a small team who deliver audit and data across the two specialties

Contribute to improvement of services for patients by providing required reports and also escalating shifts in activity, performance or quality seen in data, outside of routine reporting

  • Degree level education in a numerate subject or work experience equivalent

Desirable

  • MBA, Masters or PhD in numerate subject
  • Relevant professional registration (e.g. UK Council for Health Informatics Professions; Operational Society Fellowship)

Experience

  • Post degree experience in informatics, analysis and reporting
  • In depth experience of information analysis and reporting
  • Experience in transforming data into a meaningful and presentable form and communicating complex issues to a wide audience
  • Experience in building and maintaining working relationships to a senior level
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence application and methods
  • Knowledge of data set manipulation
  • Experience of managing staff

Desirable

  • Experience with NHS information systems
  • Knowledge of Operational research methods and application.
  • Knowledge and understanding of mandatory reporting requirements, NHS data standards and definitions
